About us

About RailGut

RailGut began with a wagon that had nothing to carry.

We had a low-loader wagon without a transformer or crate on it. So we made an adapter for that wagon. That adapter became our first Base.

Then the real idea came: if the Base is made for the wagon, the Load can be the same for every wagon. That is how the interchangeable Loads were born. One Load. Any RailGut Base.

The name

Rail + Gut

RailGut is pronounced the German way: Rail and Gut, with Gut as in “goot”.

The name carries two meanings: Gut as in Güterwagen, the German word for a freight wagon, and Gut as in “good”. A good cargo system for freight wagons.
