Background
The DB/TFG inland container
TFG Transfracht was founded in 1969 as a subsidiary of the German railway to develop container transport in Germany. Its first transports started on 14 April 1969, and in 1971 it began carrying overseas containers. In 1980 the railway’s large containers were approved for international rail transport.
For European land transport, an inland container with a width of 2.50 m was agreed, mainly for combined road and rail operations.
Our model is a 20 foot inland container in the style of the DB/TFG fleet (Htt6 family, around 1988). The exact subtype is not established, and decals and numbers are not included.
